From the great 2005 vintage this Grand Cru Classe Saint Emilion wine has true Bordeaux balance and sophistication; this wine has a dark garnet red color, elegant nose of dark berries, cassis and a whiff of leather and generous plum and black cherry flavors with a satisfyingly long slightly oaky tannic finish.
Allow 30 minutes to breathe and serve at 18℃; match this right-bank wine with flavorful meat dishes including roasted duck and lamb as well as some Chinese classics like Shanghai Braised Pork Haunch in Brown Sauce and Shanxi Style Lamb Ribs.
18 month in French oak.
Still young, this wine will soften and develop more complexity and character over the next 5-10 years.
