The second wine of Rocca di Frassinello is a project between Castellare di Castellina and the owners of Chateau Lafite; this wine features a garnet red color, elegant Bordeaux nose of mature fruit and spices and smooth black berries and plum flavors with a very complex and elegant smooth finish; this is a refined wines that exhibits some of the most desirable characteristics of Tuscan and Bordeaux-like wines; despite only 25 years of history, Castellare di Castellina makes very high standard traditional Tuscan wines as well as award-winning, innovative Italian-French style wines in a separate Tuscan winery in cooperation with Domaines Baron de Rothschild-Lafite.
Serve at 18℃ and allow 20+ minutes for breathing; enjoy with simple grilled meats including Prime Steaks, Lamb Chops and Wild Boar or Venison.
9 months in 50% new French oak.
Quite mature for 2005, so ready now or can be cellared for another 5 years.
