Legendary Rioja producer Marques de Riscal has been making white wines in Rueda with good results since 1974; the wine is very pale, almost colorless, has a vibrant floral and citrus nose, and a bracingly dry attack on the palate that harmoniously spreads throughout the mouth and finishes perfectly clean; in 1858 Marques de Riscal became the first winery in Rioja to produce wines using Bordeaux methods, and in 1972 the first winery to promote the Rueda appellation for classy white wines.
Serve well-chilled about 8℃; because of the acidity of the wine, best with seafood dishes or grilled white meats including Zhejiang Style Oyster Eggs Run and Shanghai Style Braised Yellow Fish in Soy Sauce.
6 months in stainless steel vats.
Drink now or over the next 2 years.
