Another under $500 winner from Columbia Crest, the 2000 Johannisberg Riesling is an inexpensive way to enjoy a fruity, well-balanced Riesling wine.

This pale yellow wine has a sweet citrus bouquet. On the palate the wine offers a combination of honey, peach and floral flavors with a touch of sweetness. The clean, crisp finish gives the wine balance and prevents it from tasting too sweet as some inexpensive Rieslings do. This is a fine wine to enjoy as an aperitif or with Steamed Crab and Steamed Lobster. This wine also matches nicely with spicy Asian cuisine. Serve this wine well-chilled, about 6~8℃.

Columbia Crest Winery is considered one of the US's best good value wine producers. For over a decade, their wines have won almost every “Best Value” award from international wine publications. Vines were first planted in Washington State's Columbia Valley in 1978 and by 1982 a new $26 million US dollar winery was opened. In 1998, another $7 million dollars was invested in the latest winemaking technology making their facilities among the most advanced in the US.
