One look at the traditional label (most Beaujolais Nouveau wines have very colorful and lively styled labels) tells you this wine is from a serious producer. In fact Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest and most respected wine producers in Burgundy, including Beaujolais. The fine 2003 Beaujolais Nouveau wine is a deep purple-red colored wine with the typical fruity nose that also exhibits a bit of spice. In the mouth, the wine offers abundant cherry and other fruit flavors and a smooth round feeling. The finish is nicely crisp and has good length. Match this wine with various Taiwanese supper dishes including 3-Cup Chicken or Rabbit, Deep Fried Oyster Rolls and Five Layer Pork. Serve this wine at 13 C.
