1999 is an even better vintage for Pio Cesare's Barolo than the fine 1998 with more concentration and richness; this robust wine has a dark brick red color, attractive black cherry nose and generous flavors of cassis, black cherry, oak and a touch of leather; the wine exhibits good balance and complexity; enjoy with roasted meats, meat risottos and rich creamy cheeses; established in 1881, Pio Cesare has been in the same family for more than 100 years or four generations; today, the winery produces some of the most admired wines from Piedmont.
