Concentrated and earthy, this exciting "big" wine has a dark purple color, herbal, wild flower and black cherry nose and concentrated flavors of sweet dark fruit, black pepper, subtle oak and an impressively long tannic and slightly spicy finish; a very distinctive wine that despite its power and relative youth is drinking nicely now but is still a relatively young wine with aging potential; match with game meat and hearty beef or lamb stews; owned by the Michel family, Les Vieux Donjon is one of the most highly respected producers of traditional style Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines.
