The 2003 Haut Brisson is a remarkably generous wine with a deep redpurple color with reddish overtones, lively nose of cassis, smoky wood and spices and concentrated flavors of ripe dark fruit, cherries and oak; aged in 100% new oak, the wine has a long smooth finish with subtle spiced oak aftertaste.
Allow at least 40 minutes for breathing and serve at 18℃; match with red meats like Prime steaks and lamb chops and soft cheeses as well as high quality Teppanyaki style Japanese steaks.
18 months in French oak.
Lovely now but will improve with more bottle aging and can be kept for decades.
