Yet another indication that the magic touch of Miguel Torres is not limited to Penedes, this hearty Mediterranean style wine from the "hot" region of Priorat features a dark purple-black color, expressive ripe dark fruit nose with plenty of spices and concentrated earthy dark berries, licorice and mocha flavors with a round tannic finish; if you love robust and rustic wines try this beautifully made blockbuster; the most famous wine maker in Penedes, Miguel Torres, has branched out to other leading Spanish and new world wine regions including Priorat in 1996.
Allow 20 - 30 minutes for breathing and serve at 18℃; pair this intense wine with hearty meat dishes including western and Chinese style meat stews; particularly good with game including wild boar.
9 months in French oak.
Approachable now but will keep for 8 - 10 years.
