One of the most interesting wines tasted for this new guide. This spicy and earthy Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend has deep garnet red color, dark fruit, white pepper and tar nose; spicy flavors of preserved fruit, black pepper and coffee with herbal notes; this wine has a nice roundness in the mouth and a pleasant toasty oak finish. A joint venture between the Rupert family of South Africa and Baron Benjamin de Rothschild, this winery is located on a farm founded in 1690 and has built a reputation for premium South African wines.
Serve at 18℃; matches well with BBQ and roasted meats; try with Sichuan style tea smoked duck.
