Fine expression of Priorat Mediteranean style wine. The 2009 wine has a brooding ruby red color, lively aromas of cherry, blackberry and spices; dense spicy dark fruit flavors with a pleasant minerality and a lasting, quite soft tannic finish. The most famous wine maker in Penedès, Miguel Torres, has branched out to other leading Spanish and new world wine regions including Priorat in 1996.
Allow 45+ minutes breathing time and serve at 16 - 18℃; the wine is excellent with game, lamb stews and flavorful cheeses; try with Hunan style dry-roasted duck.
16 months in French oak barrels.
Nice now but will continue to develop for a decade.
