This is a lovely wine from Burgundy's most famous village for only $1,280. Despite a modest price this wine is a classic Burgundy wine in an excellent vintage.

Put together a well-known family domain and a first-rate vintage and the result is an excellent wine. This pale red colored wine has a very pleasing complex fruity bouquet. As with all good red Burgundies, one of the great pleasures of this wine is enjoying its scent. The wine is very soft on the palate offering a symphony of ripe fruit flavors. The gentle tannins and slight acidity give the wine an impressive balance. Enjoy this wine with Roasted Chicken with White Burgundy Cream Sauce and Morel Mushrooms, Coq au Vin (French Chicken Stew with Red Burgundy Sauce) and Boeuf Bourguignon (French Beef Stew with Red Burgundy or Beaujolais Sauce). This wine also matches nicely with Teppanyaki Style U.S. Prime and Japanese Steaks. Serve this wine about 16℃.

The village of Vosne-Romanee, located in the Cote de Nuit area of Burgundy, produces the world's greatest Pinot Noir wines. In addition to the five great Grand Cru vineyards (La Romanee, La Tache, Richebourg, Romanee-Conti and Romanee-Saint-Vivant) there are 15 Premier Cru vineyards that produce some excellent wines. One of this areas respected producers is Gros Frere et Soeur.
